Glossary of Terms

Ad: For Web advertising, an ad is almost always a banner, a graphic image or set of animated images (in a file called an animated GIF) of a designated pixel size and byte size limit.

AdView: An AdView, synonymous with ad impression, is a single ad that appears on a Web page when the page arrives at the viewer's display.

Banner: A banner is an advertisement in the form of a graphic image that typically runs across a Web page or is positioned in a margin or other space reserved for ads

Campaign: A campaign is owned by an advertiser and an advertiser can own multiple campaigns. A campaign is a set of banners with the same delivery settings. A campaign can own multiple banners with different sizes.

A campaign has a number of properties which influence the delivery of the banners which are owned by this campaign, such as AdViews remaining, AdClicks remaining, Activation date, Expiration date and Priority.

Delivery Limitations are used to set additional requirements that must be met before a banner will be displayed. It is possible to specify multiple limitations per banner, time, day of the week, and it is even possible to use logical operators to create very specific situations in which the banner is displayed (ie; only show the banner to Viewer’s who have logged on from IP addresses within the Northern Territory, between the hours of 6-8pm, Monday to Friday).

Geotargeting determines in which Region (State) of Australia a specific banner is delivered. For example: if you have a banner intended only for Queensland you can use this feature to make sure the banner is only delivered to people who are currently in that State.
